It’s been a little while since my last post, and life has certainly kept me on my toes, especially as I continue my journey through grad school. The transitions for our youngest neurodivergent adult haven’t always been smooth, but we're making progress! We’ve assembled a fantastic team to support him in achieving his mental health, emotional well-being, and essential adulting milestones. So far, he’s learned how to cook a variety of delicious meals, write his first check, explore local attractions in our neighborhood, and even navigate an Uber ride with a caregiver by his side (of course!). We're gradually working on adding even more milestones and vital adulting skills. It’s been a challenge at times, but it’s all part of helping him become more independent and confident as he navigates the world around him, with the right support in place for the long run.

May is such a special month for our family! We get to celebrate our wedding anniversary (26 wonderful years!) and three birthdays—my hubby, our daughter, and grandma. We feel so grateful for every single day and are truly blessed beyond measure. We’re thanking God for all the wins and even for the challenges that come with raising a special needs adult child in this ever-changing world. No matter what, we keep advocating and doing everything we can to help. I really hope you all are doing well and finding ways to stick to your budget with these rising prices. We’re definitely trying to get creative with our shopping, especially when it comes to eggs and dairy—LOL!
On that note, I wish you a fantastic rest of your week and encourage you to stay well!

We got Hit by a BOMB Storm on Tuesday the 20th 2024

"As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/ Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I last posted because we lost power on Tuesday, but it has just been restored. We experienced a whirlwind of a storm that hasn't hit the PNW in decades, even making it onto National News weather coverage! I apologize for my absence, but I simply couldn't get online to update you all. For those with power and generators, please take a moment to appreciate the kind neighbors and friends who care about you and have your best interests at heart. Our community's generosity helped us through this tough time, and it has been a blessing to witness how kind people can be. As we approach the giving season of Christmas and Thanksgiving in 2024, please extend your support to those in need of the many things we often take for granted. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season with your loved ones. ~MomAdvoca...

Happy Spring! Happy Autism Awareness Month!

"As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/ Happy Tuesday to you! It has been a minute. We have been busy with school; both my autistic son, my neurotypical daughter, and I are all remotely doing our studies online, and it can be interesting at times. Sometimes, we see one another in the evening or afternoon, but we always sit down together for dinner, which is a blessing. Mainly just to talk about our days and see how each other is doing, although we are all in the same home we all have different lives and schedules, LOL!  What did you all do for spring break? We had a severe staycation, during which we rested, binged, and relaxed some more. It was such a fun time, and it was sad that it was only 5-7 days, but at least we all were there together. I hope this post finds you all safe, enjoying your families, and creating long-lasting memories.  Until next time, take care of yourself and each other....
