Happy Spring Everyone!

It has been a minute over here in our neighborhood. Can you believe that the school year is almost over? We are excited about the long summers and binge watching until whenever, right?!

Our autistic teen son is now in his 11th year of school and going into his final year of homeschooling this year as he enters his senior year of high school.

Time sure does fly when you are advocating(constantly) and busy being a homeschool mom who wears lots of hats and also writes too. Wherever you are in your journey with homeschooling, parenting, advocating, researching the many ways to educate your special needs child. Remember to keep your eyes on the prize of what is most important and that is your son/daughter to graduate from high school, learns to be more self-reliant and overall become more independent. For all of us, as parents of special needs children, this is going to be different for every one of us. It is the big picture though that makes all the difference. I know you are tired, but the rewards are so worth it in the end.

I hope you have a fantastic week and keep going!!!

Stay well and Safe:-).

We got Hit by a BOMB Storm on Tuesday the 20th 2024

"As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/ Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I last posted because we lost power on Tuesday, but it has just been restored. We experienced a whirlwind of a storm that hasn't hit the PNW in decades, even making it onto National News weather coverage! I apologize for my absence, but I simply couldn't get online to update you all. For those with power and generators, please take a moment to appreciate the kind neighbors and friends who care about you and have your best interests at heart. Our community's generosity helped us through this tough time, and it has been a blessing to witness how kind people can be. As we approach the giving season of Christmas and Thanksgiving in 2024, please extend your support to those in need of the many things we often take for granted. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season with your loved ones. ~MomAdvoca...

August 2024, new beginnings in transitions to new things and adulting on the spectrum

" As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/   Welcome to August 2024!  If you have been following us all along, thanks for continuing this journey with us and raising our adult autistic son. There have been times when my patience has been tested, and other times, I just want to crawl into bed and/or be able to call my late mom up to talk about parenting. I often listen to my inner voice and gumption to never give up and keep going. This summer of 2024 has definitely been one of those times.  Our autistic son just graduated from high school, and although we have him involved in needed therapies for his sanity(and ours), there are still times that are tough for him, and transitioning is just hard, plain, and simple. Thankfully, we can have our downtimes and uptimes, too, when we can just exhale and breathe. We, at least myself, try to keep up with what going on in our world at this time on the ne...
