Hello!

Happy 2022!!! Hope your New Year celebration was safe and fun. We had some bubbly and the kids had apple grape sparkly fizzy juice (that's what I call it;-). It was a nice quiet time at home, of course there were early fireworks around 6pm that day and kept on going, but who's counting. Our cat did pretty well with all of the fireworks going on in the surrounding neighborhood and was pretty much not even bothered.

                                  Samus our furry kitty

Isn't she adorable? Pets are so funny sometimes and they always have their own personalities as well. She is fine just being around us and of course lets us all know when she doesn't want to be bothered with a little nip or scratch, so she is pretty independent. Aren't they all?

I know most people do New Year's Resolutions, but I am not the one because most of the time it just does not stick. So, instead of promising myself that I will do XY or Z this year, it is more about intention and doing or working at those faults of mine that I am not so good at doing. My actions speak louder than if I was to say, 'I am going to lose 100 lbs. by the end of this month'(who am I kidding?!). It is impossible to keep resolutions, such as this one, because it is not doable, you literally have to plan something like this out. For those of you who do not know, our youngest has autism and finding gifts for him last year was a bit challenging but what made it much easier were gift cards and him sharing pictures with us of what he was needing or wanted under the Christmas tree. These were such a time saver because then we knew what he wanted and there were no surprises, whereas our daughter just needed some spa accessories and lots of other things, which again we decided to just give her gift cards as well for.

As parents, you are always not going to get everything right, when it comes to presents, but gift cards are so much better than getting the wrong thing right?!

We are still homeschooling and loving every minute, second, hour and moment of this gift with our special needs son who is now going to be a junior in high school this fall 2022. And our oldest is also going into her junior year in college in the same year.  Time flies so quickly and these past two years have been a whirlwind with the pandemic, variants, and booster shots. My head is still spinning from it all and frankly I just want it all to be over. Unfortunately, pandemics and viruses don't go away quickly. They take time and this has cost us so many lives lost, and I could go on, but it is just too depressing. So instead, I am ending this blog post on a positive note.

Stay safe out there in 2022 and beyond and take care of yourself and each other.

                                  Peace Out!

"As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/ Hello Everyone, and Happy New Year 2025! It has been a minute as we transition to a new year. How are you all doing? We are adjusting how we shop because prices are not getting smaller but more prominent. This also depends on where and how you shop. So, as a family, we have started doing much more bulk shopping and focusing on the products we buy the most and eat in large quantities.  It is breakfast, dinner, and snacks for us, LOL! How about you?  Things will be changing a bit on here as well because depending on what is going on in our lives, especially my own as an autistic parent, sometimes it can get a bit dicey at times, and I may draw a blank, which is rare for me or power goes out, which is what happened last time because of our cyclone bomb storm in the PNW. Keep your eyes peeled for some great monthly content about my life experiences, season...

Opening School During a Pandemic with 3 Different Covid-19 Strains

"As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases." https://homeschoolspecneedstidbits.com/affiliate-disclosure/ Is it SAFE for your kids to return to school during a pandemic? My hubby and I asked each other that same question a few days ago when we received an email about our school district's reopening plan. There are so many things at stake: economy, opening of businesses, children's mental and emotional wellness,   parent's sanity and so much more that is happening in our world right now.  To top it all off, there is a pandemic that can kill you and your immediate family ***ARGH!!!***. If you are still on the fence about what to decide, in regards to sending your children back to school, the CDC has a great checklist you can check out and make the best decision for your family.  In our case, our son is autistic as some of you may already know and our concerns will obviously not be the same as your concerns when it comes to having your child return t...
